Fall, 2014:  It's been a very long time since I've updated this blog but life has been hectic (in ways both unfavorable and favorable) these past few months.  My dear mother passed away from a lengthy illness in October and, while she never supported this Mission in any way, shape or form, she was a dynamic and strong person who was loved by all who met her.  While I mourn the lack of her presence, I also stayed true to the NecroErotic philosophy regarding death and corpses:  No tear jerking funeral was held and no 'worship' of the remains occurred.  I state this only because I know any detractors reading this would likely remark, "HA!  How do YOU like it when one of your own family dies ?!"  I've seen scores of family members and beloved friends and kindred souls pass away over the decades.  This does not change my viewpoint one single iota, nor will it EVER change!  Once a person expires that is the end of their mortal existence, period.
     Yours truly took a trip to Kentucky in September and found this lovely sight while touring a graveyard with some friends.

     It is unknown whether this crypt was formally exhumed or robbed but in any case the image is rather nice to behold, wouldn't you agree ?!
     I would also like to take a moment to mark the 19th anniversary of a dear friend's death on October 25, 1995.  For personal reasons, I did agree on behalf of her family to not mention her name in future posts but suffice to say she was an 18 year old pen/phone pal of mine and an early supporter of the NecroErotic Mission who died tragically in a car accident.  Her memory remains with me to this day.
     Lastly, a book on necrophilia is scheduled to go to press sometime next year.  In addition to writings and opinions from persons in the medical, psychological and forensic fields, yours truly will be contributing a chapter on that topic so near and dear to myself as well as (presumably!) those of you reading this blog.
     There may not be nearly as much to say as there was in the early days of the Mission but believe me when I tell you that it lives on, now and forever!!

 Millionaire A.T. Stewart was interred in a vault in the east yard in 1876; two years later his remains were stolen and reportedly held for ransom. The suspicious events surrounding the theft and rumors of ransom demands were well publicized for several years following the crime.  The case was never officially resolved, although some stories hold that Stewart’s widow negotiated the return of the remains in 1881 and reinterred them elsewhere.
     Alexander Turney Stewart was a retail giant. His Manhattan department stores — the largest dubbed the “Iron Palace” — revolutionized the shopping experience. He died in 1876 and was buried in the churchyard of St. Mark’s in the Bowery.
Two years after his death, grave robbers broke into his vault and spirited away his putrefying remains. Through an intermediary, they contacted Stewart’s widow and demanded $250,000 for their return. It took another two years before the two sides could come to terms. Mrs. Stewart finally paid $20,000 for a satchel full of bones, presumably her husband’s.

Two graves in Cilacap, Central Java, have been robbed within the past week by a person or persons unknown.

"We're still investigating the cases. We are in the dark as to the motive behind the theft of the remains," Cilacap Police chief. Adj. Sr. Comr. Andry Triaspoetra said in Cilacap on Thursday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

The latest robbery took place at the Sabuk Janur Cemetery, from where a corpse was stolen from its grave, Andry said.

The first theft was carried out at the Cikento Cemetery on Dec. 7, during which the remains of a premature baby named Yuliana were stolen, he added.
